It is mandatory to install the BUDS2 fixed version. The BUDS2 software crashed worldwide on September 1st, 2025. BRP released an update and the problem was solved. Please install (clean installation) the BUDS2 fixed version (link below).

IMPORTANT! To avoid unwanted consequences of installing a new version over an already installed one, you need to perform a "clean installation".

  1. If you have used the BUDS2 software before, then, before installation of new version, you need:
  1. *Save the vehicle-settings-files of scanned vehicles to another folder on your computer, perhaps you will need them in the future.

Every time you are scanning a vehicle by BUDS2, the vehicle-settings-file (xxxxxx.buds2) is automatically saved in folder Files in C:\Program Files (x86)\BRP\BUDS2\Files .

The name of each file consists of: VIN + Date (year/month/day) + time (hour/minute/second) when the file was automatically saved (example: 2BX2GEGZ8KJ000000_20250523190848.buds2).

  1. (IMPORTANT!) Uninstall old BUDS2 version in Control Panel – Programs and Features.
  2. (IMPORTANT!) Delete the folder BUDS2 in C:\Program Files (x86)\BRP.
  1. Download and install (as Administrator) the version BUDS2_24.2.2_8EBA_hours_Setup.exe.

*After installation will be completed you can copy/move the saved vehicle-settings-files to folder Files in C:\Program Files (x86)\BRP\BUDS2\Files ).
